I ned to know the part number on the disk of the new 5.1 upgrade because they are specific to each type of vehicle and the local toyota dealer is an idiot!

OH... sorry it should read something like .... 86271-_____

The numbers will be on the disk itself. The Player is under the passenger seat. Push it all the way foreward and pull off the plastic piece covering the unit. Eject the CD and it will be on the front of the disk. There are actually 2 numbers with a hyphen in each

I believe you can also get this info right from the Nav screen. Sorry I don't recall the steps to get to it.

Anyhelp would be appreciated. Even the numbers for an 04 version 4.2 would help.

I believe the Toyota 2005 update DVD will update a variety of systems - same as the Lexus DVD. The LX470 DVD covers 2001 - 2006 (Gen 2, 3, & 4).

I'm at 4.2, I was told there were errors in the new version, so I don't intend to go to 5.1, If it is the same as 4.1 they will shortly release the corrected 5.2 version.....

The Lexus 2005 DVD Navigation update part number is 00230-DVD05-CY. I expect the Toyota LC to be 0125-DVD05-CY but have not confirmed.

Last year the v4.1 had problems so v4.2 was released to fix it. Last year's Lexus DVD was for Gen 2&3 (2001-2003). The 2005 DVD will also cover Gen4 for 2004-2006 models.

how much does the update cost?

The update is $250 but you will have some dealers try to discourage you from buying it by quoting you $900+ .....dicks. Anyway the numbers I was looing for were on the specific disk. The number you gave was the Toyota Parts Order #. Thanks anyway. The number on the disk is specific to each type of vehicle. I was trying to determine if the disk I was gonna get was for the correct type of vehicle.

What is entailed in the upgrade, once you purchase the disk? Do you jsut plop it in the player and viola! - you're now upgraded? Or are there some other functions you have to perform? Also, is the player under the seat basically a traditional DVD player?

Thanks,

Sorry Mac! I've been told that a pirated copy won't work or won't burn properly.

A group purchase perhaps then....?

mac can you find out the price on a group buy from cdan and let me know.

CDan's price to me was $250 the normal price. The DVD's will copy with certain hardware but are double layered and also require certain software upgrades.

Hmmm, I happen to have a dual layer burner... :flipoff2:

Yea, me too, and I already know it will copy my BMW Nav disk, I mean ...I theory, I supposed it might, yea...thats what I mean:grinpimp:
