Hi I don't think I've posted on here for about 10 years, I've still got my FJ75 truck I've had it for about 25 years now, I'm replacing the locally made (New Zealand) fibreglass windshield frame I installed about 15 years ago and have ordered a chinese steel frame, I haven't seen it yet but should have it in a week or so, has anybody got any experience with them, how well made they are and how well they fit, do the predrilled holes and captive nuts line up. I'm going to find out soon enough but are looking for any feedback and are only able to find info about 40 series panels on google, ih8mud, etc, thanks

I thought the fibreglass frames were the best to be had? Not true?

I guess how good they are depends on who made them, mine was locally built here in NZ and to be fair at the time it was pretty good because there was nothing else available, however the one I have isn't a particularly good fit, the top edge that bolts to the roof varies in thickness between 7mm-11mm which is a lot thicker than the 1mm panel steel the original frame was pressed out of. Overall it works but doesn't have good aesthetics, from a couple of metres away (that's about 6 1/2 feet for northern hemisphere :p ) it looks ok but close up looking at the top edge inside the cab and from outside looking along the top of the door lines you can see it pushes the roof up at the front (I do have a fibreglass roof too) and it also doesn't have properly formed water channels down either side
