This thread is totally my wifes idea, as the 60 is my favorite cruiser. She wants me to trade off my 2 fj60's for an 80. I really don't want to but for her i will. If you are a little interested, come by, we can kick some tires and probably not trade but who knows....I'll post pics as soon as I can

For 2 60's you should get and 80 and a 40!!!

Exactly! That's what I'm saying - the math is flawed.

Edit: so you're making dirty jokes in Japanese these days too?

My father in law asked me the question last month. He asked me if he or anyone offered to buy me a new car off the lot, what would I choose?
I told him the truth. I have not seen anything since the mid 90's that I am interested in. The new cars are very generic. I do not want any of them. They are boring!
Even if he was to buy me a new FJ Cruiser, it would sit in the driveway and would rarely be used. My 80 is a much stronger truck. If I had an FJ, I would rarely use it. My LC80 is a much better truck. It climbs trees. I can trust it even when I cannot see where I am going. I love that truck. It is a point-and-shoot 4x4. It doesn't need my help.
When it comes to homes and trucks, I prefer those that are paid for with no bills. Those are the best kind. Be it ever so humble, there is no place like "paid for". It was very gratifying to buy a house with a personal check!
Our home is very simple. But we paid cash to buy it! It feels really good to write a personal check to buy a hut!
I wrote a personal check for 65K to buy the hut. Eight months later, I wrote a check for ten thousand. Be it ever so humble, there is no place like paid for in cash!
I love my little hut!:bounce:

House paid off? Nuh-uh. No way. Unpossible.

here is a pic of the 85, tomorrow i'll try to send updated pics of it and the engine bay, and add pics of the 82.

the 85 has a new clutch, clutch master and slave and soft line. Will soon have a/c fixed, have parts just need to do it. Replaced the p/s pump. Just adjusted the valves and full tune up, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, timing set. New brake pads, turned the rotors. Full desmog, flew through emmissions (put all the smog equiptment on for visual, though it was not functional). Weber 32/36 and header. I cleaned up the engine bay up real good, add new pics tomorrow. It has aussie wide angle mirrors on it now. 148k miles and runs better than new, i would drive it to ny and back with out thinking twice. Int the next couple days it will have a new brake booster, it started to whistle today. The only thing you hear when driving it is the tires, its pretty quiet. And the tail pipe is fixed, cut and hung right

the 82 is tan. 196k miles. real clean interior. pioneer deck and 6 disc changer. Motor is fully stock and runs like a champ, real quiet and smooth. JUst had a tune up, and the a/c was just gone through, ICE cold. You can hear the bearings in the t-case but it's mild, I think it may be the u-joints, and the rear seal on the t-case, thats all it needs. Minor body damage on the drivers rear quarter. Real nice truck and real smooth quiet ride.
