Just picked up a 2010 LC and in typical fashion, it is missing a few housekeeping items like the dvd remote, second key, owners manual, etc. I'm the third owner and it has 100k on the clock. The truck is otherwise solid and has a clean carfax but it did go through auction, where I'm guessing they grabbed these bits to sell on ebay. The front door speakers don't appear to be working either. TIA.

If you have an iPad or similar, you can download the full PDF version of the manual and keep it in iBooks e-reader. I've done this, though I have the paper manual.

I'm sure Toyota will gladly over-charge you for a remote, and then fleece you in selling/programming a second key... :hillbilly:

I just kept an eye out for one on eBay till I found a deal on one for my lx. There were a ton of them for sale, I assume it's the same remote.

I have an extra remote. It came from my wrecked 2013 and my replacement LC had its own remote. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

yeah i'm hoping to avoid a fleecing but I am pretty sure there's no way around it for the key anyway.

PM'd skit about the remote, thanks!

I bought a 3rd set of Toyota headphones (since I have 3 kids) off ebay for $40.

I've seen the remotes on ebay as well, or you could probably get them from camelbacktoyotaparts.com or conicelli or any number of the online parts sites. I don't recall the price, maybe $50? IIRC they were similar price to buying a Logitech Harmony.

If you buy an additional key it will need to be programmed. You might be able to do that if you buy the $20 OBD cable and download the latest TIS techstream software. Otherwise the dealer will need to program it.

Google a bit and you can find the owners manuals in PDF online. I'm sure a genuine printed copy would be stupidly overpriced.

Go here: Toyota Owners Official Web Site

Sign up (or sign in).

Then go to the Resources tab...and click on Manuals & Warranty.

-Once you create an account, it knows what vehicle you have and the PDF's will automatically be listed.

In case some might get stuck...

-Open the PDF, then save as a PDF (if on a Mac, click File...Expoert as PDF) and then either email the file to yourself or drag it onto your iPad or other device in iTunes (don't know the sequence for Android).
-Open email on your phone or iPad...after opening to view, tap it once, then look for "Open in iBooks" where it will then open, and be saved automatically& reside as a readable title.

If you have trouble, I can send the 2008 manual PDF to tide you over. Should be just about identical.

Thanks for all the help. skitym came through with a working dvd remote. now I am sourcing a couple extra sets of headphones (3 kids) and got a contact for an extra key to hopefully avoid the dealer. Still might head to the dealer to have the 200-series front spring spacers installed and get the speakers sorted out, doors don't seem to be working.

Went to download the manuals from the link above but 2 models come up, OM60G31U vs OM60E91U. Any idea which model is correct for US?

Anyone else have a DVD remote they are interested in selling? I have a 2009 LC. I checked dealer first and it was $500. eBay was about $280. I tried to program a Logitech harmony universal remote manually, using a friends remote and that didn't work either.

$95, buy it now. Mine looks identical except no L/R button since there's only one screen, but I understand if you just leave it on L it works fine (similar to how headphones with A/B should be on A unless you have two screens and want to hear the audio from the second screen)

You think those would work for my 2009? I thought that 2008/2009 were different remotes than newer models.

I have a 2013 so I can only speak to what my remote looks like. Personally I would go online and look for the part # on a Toyota parts website, then search for that part # on ebay and see if there's a match. If there is and it's affordable, just get that part. If there's not, then you could look up the FCC ID of the remote and see if another Toyota remote has the same FCC ID. If it does they're guaranteed to be compatible. If not then you'd have to do more research to confirm (i.e. look up the FCC IDs on the FCC website and see if they're using the same IR frequencies).

If you feel lucky, try one. Worst case it doesnt work and you resell it on ebay for the same amount. The only cost is ebay and paypal fees.
