I might get rid of my wifes gas pig and we really like the XB's. I'm curious if anyone has the newer style ('08 or '09) and what they think of it. My wife drove one and she loved it. Seems like a pretty good value.

I loved my wife's '08. It's spacious, sporty, comfy, gets great MPG's, and feels like a well built car. We got it a day before we unexpectedly inheritted 3 kids, so my wife never got the new car feeling out of it. That and she missed having a truck, so she picked up a new Tacoma.

If we could afford another payment, it would be my first choice. I'm surprised at how much I miss the car. I loved driving it. (sniffle, sniffle)

Thanks for the input KB3!
Judging by the trees in your pic, you don't have to worry about snow. We would be giving up AWD for FWD. I know upgraded tires could help that situation.
I've looked at other cars and we are still on the XB. I drove one the other day and I was totally impressed for the money.

You are correct, sir. Phoenix doesn't get too much snow.

So..... did you end up getting the XB?

Sure did, last Saturday. Great little car! Tripled our MPG's.
Now I'm looking at a '06, the original box, as my DD.

I had an '05 with a stick; it got an honest 38 mpg highway.
I got rid of it because of the lack of acceleration ---- urban death vehicle...
They've addressed the power problem with this generation but sacrificed the fuel economy.

Not to talk smack but I love the first gen Xb (03-06)

I cannot stand the 2nd gens, they have lost the charisma & funkyness that made the first Xb so special.

Hey, I see that Tercel 4WD, that should make you smile everytime you drive it right?

Can you tell me a little more about the Tercel? How fun is it? How's the 4WD in action? Has it been reliable?

The reason I'm asking is because my dad used to owned an 88 Toyta Van 4WD (TownAce) and when he sold it, my uncle told him that if he missed the van so much, he should look into the 84-86 Tercels 4WD (5 speed) as they are the next best thing to a 4WD Van.

Sorry for highjacking the thread.

my mother has an 05 xb that replaced an aged ford aero mini van and i love driving it.

I am going to drive it to ATL is weekend for a company party. I feel like I am driving a skateboard when I am driving it. It is a manual but it needs a 6th gear for highway.

Best car for her b/c she wanted to pay cash and a no bs car.

As far as the styling it is just a completely different car with the same name. It actually is pretty quick, stops NOW and handles real nice. But it will not get that mid to high 30's mpg's.......still one hell of a lot better than a '05 Denali.

I didn't buy the old xB as the DD, too much money for what I needed. I ended up with a low miles 2WD '94 Ranger...cheap.
Not near as cool as a '06 xB, but did I say it was cheap?
