My wife has an '06 and she told me the other day while driving, with the radio completely off (not illuminated), the speakers put out a "deafening" noise, and she works at a mine around heavy machinery all day long, so when she says deafening she means it.
Since it made the sound with the stereo off, the only thing I could think of doing, as a temporary measure, was unplugging both plugs from the amp under the seat. Of course now the radio doesn't work, which is a bummer.
Anyone know the cause of this? I have heard these amps sometimes have issues, but is the symptom a deafening sporadic popping banging sound from the speakers with the radio off?
The other issue I was thinking is a poor connection at the battery causing weird issues. Her old battery lug rotted away so i had grab a universal one from the auto store and the wires just kinda clamp in, but not well...
