Hi guys,I have bought some more Toyota diesel stuff in Europe and will be going over there in a few weeks to fill the rest of the container.I just picked up a BJ70 that I might consider parting out and use the drivertrain in my BJ43.I also already picked up (my buddy picked them up ;-) ) some LHD dash parts from a LJ70.

If anybody is looking to do a RHD to LHD swap and need some parts let me know,I am not looking to make a killing on these but if I can get my shipping cost a bit lower that would help out so much ;-)

If I know what specific parts to look for ,I will keep my eye open. There will be no A/C parts or PTO winches as these are rare unicorns in Europe.I am thinking more about sheetmetal /mechanical or interior parts.

I have seen many 70 series been offered for sale lately in the US but have not really seen anybody that carries used parts for them, maybe it's a good time to stock up ;-)

Thanks

Joe

Rear doors for a BJ73/74 , best if they have the removable top section and or are Red. They will be cut down if not. Cross over pipe , middle section.

What part of Europe are you going to. I know a guy who parts out 70 series. Has alot of doors and front body panels.

Joe,

I need a rear bumper for 1986 FJ70 and also the big late-style door mirrors (electric or manual ok).

Let me know what you find/bring back. Thanks. Bruce

Hi Bob

I will be going to buy in the Benelux as there is where I have my contacts.I am not planning to buy separate parts from dealers since those prices are outrages,I have seen the rear doors with the removable top for sale a few times, mostly around 200 to 250 EURO for 1 side!!!!!!!!

That would be 600$ for 2 doors....still in Europe!

The guys I know do mostly work on 40's and use 70 series for 4x4 challenge racing events, the interior and some of the body parts are not that important for them. The 13BT's and 1HZ's are wy they buy these Cruisers.

If your buddy is in those neck of the woods and is reasonably priced please let me know.

Thanks

Joe

I have never seen electric mirrors on a 70 in Europe, the regular ones should be able to find but not sure what the going rates are for them now.
Rear bumpers in nice condition are hard to find in Europe because of the bad crome quality and the salt on the roads,I will keep my eyes open though.

Joe,

Ok, manual mirrors are ok, and for the bumper, I need black painted, not chrome to match front. Let me know if you find one. I'm in!

Thanks. Bruce

Let me know if you find a cheap HZ powered 70 troopy in your wanderings. I need to drive one from Europe to the D.R. of Congo in a couple years for a medical mission. I don't really care if it is ratted out, it will be refitted as a field ambulance and the motor and running gear can be rebuilt. Just needs to make it 6k miles. :)

If you can find in brown or black - parking brake cover/boot, dark brown only - the plastic vent pictured below (my other side is missing one), tan only - the removable panel that covers the jack (broken panel in pic).

LOL ,cheap and the words Troopy and 1HZ ussualy do not go together.there is one guy in Holland that seems to find them but I do not buy from him.I have been there a few times in the past to check some stuff out but always left it where it was.

If you feel tempted to buy any of the cheap ones you can find, help yourself http://www.denbreems.nl/

But I have a feeling that if you buy any of these cheap Cruisers for a roadtrip it will turn out to be one big nightmare, just my 2 cents

Thanks for the lead. Yeah I know the unicorns I'm looking for. I can deal with mechanicals in worse than average shape because of the network of friends in Europe that I can stay with to do some rejuvination before heading south.

That's an interesting looking Prado with a taller roof in the passenger area, the BJ70 wouldn't be a bad way to go for a cheaper truck. ;)

LX moulded mud flaps to be sent to Oz?
