there is a used one for sale that I know of.

I'm intrigued by the idea of a tiny hardshell trailer. This one is 15' total, 12' body (I think). '89. I like the idea of it being fully ready to snooze in on road trips even with ball attached vs having to set up camp or raise the popup.
Anybody knows about this one or if not about the concept of a tiny trailer like that?

Spoil yourself...

Is it off road type or strictly pavement?

definitely asphalt.
low slung too.
Went to see it. Size is not bad actually, does not feel that cramped. But oldish and not such a great shape.
Still intrigued by the idea, though. I can see coming into a NP campground late in the evening, not even unhook it and relax within 30 secs with a cool one...

And if it has it's own bathroom...that's a huge plus. I'll take a flush toilet and hot shower anytime. Simplicity is way underrated. As you say, walk in the back and relax.

If it needs freshend up, make new cushion covers, and curtains. As long as systems are operational, the cosmetics are the easy part. Plus I think the older campers seem to be better built all the way around.

Agreed. Around here I know a lot of people restore the old silver bullet shaped Airstreams. Some of those are downright tiny.

If your going to use it off road, Look for something like mine.

Adventure Trailers are a great trailer.

If you want a hard shell I would look at the Roughneck series.

I think I may want to go hardshell for my hopefully-soon-coming long trip around the US (one can dream). As in leaving the trailer in a NF campground and then exploring around with the powaful Cruiser. Base camp idea. But the convenience of having everything ready when stopping is a powerful attractant, especially if you move camp every day or 2 as I like to do. It'd be more for roads. I can always sleep in or on the cruiser when wheeling. And having a regular trailer on rough trails is asking for trouble, even if it makes it.

The used one I looked at was a bit sad looking, unfortunately. OK given the low price I guess but depressing to look at. Looked around. Seems like new ones are $7-10K for a 15' or so. Maybe I could find a used one around $5K in good condition.

Anybody used one? Do you get claustrophobic? Any minimum size recommended? I'd like a bunk, stove (could be gas hotplate), fridge, furnace, shower, potty, possibly water heater. A/C I can do without.

A/C I can do without.

A cheap alternative to AC in many climates is evaporative coolers. Takes very little power to run, just a small water pump and a fan. Cheap to buy, easy to maintain, not much to break.

They actually work really well as long as the humidity is fairly low, so probably wouldn't work in the south-east. If the humidity is high, they can be run without the pump turned on so you still get the moving air cooling effect.

Biggest mistake people do is to turn them on and then shut up the vehicle. They work best if you have lots of air flow going through.

I have an old small travelaire. its a 1973 with a spring over. Not fancy and no toilet but me, wife and kid fit fine when its nasty out. Cost me $700 so if I hurt it I'm not too concerned
