My 59 fj25 needs a carburator. Currently I have a one barrel rochester from a 1953 GMC on it, tried rebuilding but to no avail and I can't find any auto parts store with a remanufactured replacement. Help!

Al-

Your best bet is to find an original carb, and if you can't rebuild it yourself have Mark A or Jim C rebuild it for you. Even if you can't find the original big window carb, the one barrel Aisin with the little sight glass, w or w/o the solenoid up to '67 is still the best choice. One barrels show up occasionally in the classifieds here or Ebay. If you find an Aisin that has a solenoid just run a wire to the positive side of the distributor.

Otherwise any of the early Carter, Rochester one barrel carbs for a six cylinder would be close enough and get you in the ball park to keep running.

I've got a Carter 1bbl that came off of a 59fj25 that I was gonna ebay for $20. If you're in the US, add another $10 for a flat rate box and it's yours!

I've also got a couple of 1bbl small window carbs I am willing to part with.:)

Mark,

I found a carburator on ebay and my cruiser is up and running.

Aloha,

Al
