My stock trailer hitch 4-pin wiring isn't breathing any life. Per some of the old posts on mud the fuse of the trailer hitch is connected to the rear tail lamp assembly - the fuses are fine and all the rear taillights work wtihout any problems.

Appreciate any pointers on how I can get the stock 4-pin wiring to work!

^^^ I have the same but from Amazon. Works great.

^^^ Same here... I did visit a local trailer and hitch retailer and purchased a mounting bracket to replace the factory one so the plug didn't hang down.

scrape the old contacts and put some dielectric grease on them! Bring em back from dead!

Thanks everyone! Let me see if I can revive the old contacts else will buy the new wiring.

also if you follow the harness from the trailer plug, a wire comes out of the loom. This wire is the ground and should be bolted to a grounded bolt. This wire could have come loose/broken. A voltmeter will really help sort out this problem and eliminate/confirm if it is a ground problem.

Ah - good to know, will keep an eye out!

I thought there was a TSB on this as well. I will try the amazon route.

There is a TSB on this but I doubt Toyota or your local dealer would offer up anything as old as our trucks are now. The Amazon harness is simple to install and works. Had it since I bought the truck and use a trailer several times a year. Never any issues.... so far.
