Looks pristine, 1999 with 60k miles. Searching on CL for a cheap car for my daughter, I found this. His CL ad had this link to eBay.

Lexus: LX

And I thought my '00 with 114k was a gem!

Looks just like mine when I got it 2 yrs ago with 56k.

Damn, I know how you feel. Won't be long before my 2002 LX470 turns over 30,000 miles.
Today its got 29,466 :-)

Just curious. What do you guys think of the price? I just picked up a very similar one (mileage and condition) last month. The KBB value is only around 8K, and I paid significantly more in Socal. I figured, based on the quality of the truck, that the real value is much higher. I am very satisfied with the truck.

Like you I paid significantly more than book value for my 2002 LX470.
The better LX/LC's are worth more than the average ones and do command a higher price.

Yep, paid a lil more for mine at the time...$14k with 56,900 miles

I think that yours was an exceptional value.
I looked for almost a year before I found my 2002 LX470.
It spoke to me. My Isuzu Trooper had broke down as we were delivering Meals on Wheels.
When I got back home I got on Ebay and saw a 2002 LX470 with just 24K miles.
It was Black Onyx with tan interior - the exact color I wanted.
I had to have it -- paid $23.5K and had it imported from Southern California to North Carolina.
Much more than Book Value, but much less than any new similar vehicle and there was
no new vehicle that tripped my trigger like the LX. So I was willing to pay a
premium for one of the best out there.

I do recall in my search offering $18.5K for a 2006 with 100K miles, minor wreck with air bag deployed,
but great service history -- my offer was rejected, dealer wanted $19.5K firm. Another one I failed on
was a 2003 LX with 115K miles - dealer wanted $16.5K but I was dumb at the time and wanted
to go by Book Value. Still another one - a nice 2001 LX with 129K for $12.5K, offered 10K but next day someone
jumped in and paid full price. Finally wised up and figured this "book value" business was getting me no where.

That is a gem. Reminds me of mine. They don't come up like that very often. For me it took a little less than a year to find Vickie. I paid 16.7- she had 65K and it is the best 'thing' I have ever purchased. Makes me happy everyday I get to drive her. For me there was nothing remotely close that I could buy for the same money that represented the same value.

100 series are bringing way more than book if in decent shape. I e been looking for a month. New car prices are so high that I believe it's driving pre owned LCs and 4runners way up.

So anyone have a guide on how to price a good cruiser. Say 20% over KBB when mileage is normal but well looked after? Or say $500 for every 10k miles under average so if KBB says this is a $10k truck and then this is 100k miles under average then that's $5k of value so a $15k truck? At the end of the day it's all personal but trying to see if it's value can be calculated.

Wow, 17,200! Anyone on here get it?

from what i've seen, all the major valuation resources (nada, kbb, edmunds tmv) don't even come close to real world valuations. ie. kbb values a truck at $12k but the market dictates it will sell for $16k.
