Met a new-to-the-area wheeln dude: he asked about Heep connections, then narrowed it down to looking for resources for his (sounds like full) resto on a flat-fendered 41 Willy's.

When he lived in Tahoe the Heepers couldn't help him, so he's not hoping for much here. But then I remembered young Dan and his Power Wagons, and....

pm me if anybody wants to get in touch w/him, or has resource ideas to pass along. He's building a home in Rio for the wife and child(s)?, currently living in Evan's neck of the woods.

PS: has an 87 yota p/up, thus my reaching out to ya'll.

will do, prolly take a few days, thanks!

I don't know much about them, but Dad restored a willys pickup before he bought his first Power Wagon. If I could dig out the pictures I'd scan a few to prove it.

As far as I know, the Willys vehicles didn't use many corporate parts, so there's really not a lot of Willys specific stuff to worry about. I'm not even sure if Willys built their own engines or not.

I don't know if there are Willys-Overland specific groups locally or not.

Compared to old FJXX parts Willy's stuff should be easy to obtain because they were so ubiquitous. Even JCWhitney used to carry a load of Willy's parts. I'm sure there's on-line sources for just about anything if one knows where to look. The flathead four (134) was used in all sorts of things (boats, tractors, etc.) so I doubt there's a lack of parts for at least the engine if someone looks in the right places.

Source3: That guy in Corrales has had jeeps of all types (flat fenders, CJ5s, CJ7s, others) "For Sale" on the side of Corrales Rd for at least a decade. I'd be curious to hear his story as he seems to be a clearing house for this old stuff and always wondered where he got them.

Thanks for the input guys.

Haven't heard from the dude, although he has my email and was gonna borrow some chainsaw PPE... oh well.
