Hi guys, I'm currently enrolled in a metal trade school and am lookin to make some money while working on my hobbies, since I don't have time to get a job yet. I've been eyeing the threads about modifying harbor freight winch mounts to fit behind the front bumper of the 100 series. I was wondering if people would be interested in getting one already converted to fit onto the 100, at a cheaper price than more sophisticated mounts like the Trail Tailor or Asfir. Both are great mounts, I just see this as a way to bring a cheaper and more accessible option to the 100 community that still is very strong and works great. For reference I will include the posts with the basic idea below. Let me know what you guys think!

Sub'd to see what you come up with!

Following to see what you come up with, but the two examples you shared shouldn't be replicated. In both cases, the owner removed the bumper and replaced it with a winch. This is unsafe.

If you can come up with a mounting solution for a 100 series that puts an HF Apex behind the bumper cover without removing the bumper, I would be interested.

Judging by your suggestion I’m guessing you haven’t removed the bumper before. There is definitely no space to mount a winch AND leave the “crash bar” intact. I’m not going to do the FEA on it but judging off my educated and experienced assessment there isn’t much of a different in strengths between the stock bar and the 1/4” steel U channel that I and other have replaced it with.
