Love to deer hunt. do it as often as I can. but since moving to NC 5 years ago I am still struggling to find a decent place relatively local. I love cool and crisp mornings in a deer stand. The only thing better is pulling the trigger and putting meat in the freezer.

Where do u live? I hunt in greene county south of greenville nc. Decent deer its private land a friend of mine owns.

I love to duck hunt, and have a beach house near you. you know what they say, "if it flies, it dies"

Mtj555 where are u located? Where do u hunt?

yukon your first name is parker right? Do u have any duck spots down this way?

I do not have any spots down east. I grew up hunting Falls, Jordan, and Harris lakes around Raleigh and chapel hill. I do have a canoe, all the decoys needed, portable blind etc, if you know of a spot.

Adam, I am stationed at Ft Bragg and live in Sanford. I have bow hunted 3 times this year and seen a few doe. I havn't shot anything yet. I have been kinda busy. I am kinda restricted to hunting Ft Bragg since I have no private land to hunt on and I havn't reconed any public land in the area. Its killing me, I need to get out! I hunt bow, muzzleloader, rifle, whatever. I am pretty big into the smokeless muzzleloaders.

well...

Well not to rub it but I took all next week off to hunt. :hillbilly:

Are they any hunting clubs in the areas you guys live? I work on Cherry Point Air Station and the hunting from what I heard if pretty good. Can you shoot does on brag? If so bust a large one.

I wish I could invite everyone up to my freinds land...he might frown on that thoe. When I win the lottery tonight we will all go on a big game hunt in austalia with landcruisers! :grinpimp:

I

deer, hog, bear when able, dove, quail....you name it...I hunt it in between chasing redfish, spotted trout, canoeing, wheeling my hundy, riding my motorcycle and wife...and then working. :)

got two this year...hoping for a big boy while rut is going on before they all go nocturnal again. :(

Did a three overnite/four day canoe trip down the Neuse from Smithfield to Goldsboro (38 miles thru the "LetLones") w/ three other folks the 22nd to the 25th. Once you get below I-95 in Smithfield it is 22 miles to the next bridge. Came out w/ two doe and a small feral pig (about 70 pounds). We make this trip typically 4 times a year and do this kind of stuff all the time here in Goldsboro. Also big fox squirrel and turkey thru there. Plenty of ducks to in the swamps and on the river.

Doing the same trip, just a little shorter (30 miles) and 2 overnites the weekend before thanksgiving...

Sounds like a good time.

Well im back in my stand today. My buddy shot a nice doe yesterday. Maybe I will see something worth shooting today.

Any pics of recent kills?

Im back in the stand today. Saw a cowhorn yesterday and a few does with there youngins. Cloud cover has kept the moon light down and there is a nice frost. So hopefully these forest rats will be moving.

went to stand 2 hours before light other day......on edge of field....stopped by big oak to survey surroundings before getting settled in stand and looking through binos across field under moon and starlight saw a deer...weaving back and forth like a bird dog..it was a nice wide 8 point. Watched and watched..wind in my face...when he got 10 yards away I "blew" like a doe and he jumped sideways and went about 40 yards and just looked before sniffing again. Thought he was going to run right over me or get spooked and hook me with horns...he never came back out before or after sunrise.

had a 6 point and a spike walk by me...along with 4 does...let them all walk hoping one of the big boys would show up...but they didnt. Already got a 6 point in freezer so not wanting another at this point. Rut is slowing down big time so may take a big doe this week if I have opportunity...

Going again on Saturday

Well I shot a nanny today (doe) decent size. on the way back to the truck to get quad I managed to lock the keys in the truck. Luckily I found a lock smith for $75 to unlock truck. Otherwise I was going to take my trailer hitch and break the window.

Hide-a-Key is your friend. Any luck on the feathers this year?

There will be a key zipped tied to truck tomorrow.

Starting to do some duck scouting next week. Buddy and I got his boat all setup. He has blinds that pop up on sides of 16ft green skiff.

Ramon do u duck hunt down this way? Gary still owes me a trip from last yr.
