well??? i slide my tranny across the ground agian last nite going off a steep inbankment..dint really like it.. i want to put somthing there for protection.... any of you guys running tranny proctection...

Raise the rig ;)

Stock is alright for dirt roads....I would not want to set a 5K# truck on a piece of stamped 10 gauge at best, and *hope* that it does the job...

This is on my 40 series. There are more pics out there of it. 2" tube front and rear, and rear hoop around parking brake drum, 1" stringers, 3/8" plate. Should survive a 45 MPH impact.. ;)I have a 62 series that is going to get something very similar, as will the 80 series project when I get that far with it...

Good luck!

I've thought about adding some gussets to the stock skidplate to stiffen up the unsupported end below the driveshaft. Anyone else done this?

Better than some of the stock pieces out there. Yea I agree, not the best, but it's better than nothing. Ted was pretty much in love with the one you built on his truck. Nice piece I do have to say.
