Gents of the Lone Star Cruisers,

I am a fellow enthusiast living in Charleston, SC. A very close friend of mine lives in San Antonio and is looking to sell me her FJ40. The vehicle belonged to her Marine Corps pilot husband who was killed in Operation Enduring Freedom a few years ago, this vehicle was his baby. She mentioned that ACC in Atlanta performed quite a bit of work on it, so it's probably in decent shape. I intend to honor his sacrifice and build it the way he would have wanted it, to include going over the top with an "OOH RAH, USMC" paint job that tells his story (I'm also a former Marine, this is the kind of shenanigans we do). I have no idea what I am getting myself in to - I've never owned a 40 Series and I don't even know if this one will start and stop. I want to pay her a fair value for it; I would be willing to pay someone to go by and appraise it. Does anyone happen to know a guy? There's no rush, I plan to trailer it to South Carolina at the end of the summer. Thanks so much for your consideration!

Call Edwin at Landcruiser Specialist in Austin....Great guy, worst case you could have it towed over.

Just post to the Alamo City page like mentioned above. There's a couple FJ40 owners there that can look it over and give you an idea on condition/worth. PM crotalusatrox, he's in SA and owns a couple of 40's.
