I have a very good friend who is currently in south america, and wants me to find to help him find a 100 series. His wife and kids will be here most of the summer driving all over the west, and they plan to move back for good some time after that. Hence the need to get a good vehicle here.

Anyway, does anyone know of any good 100s or LX470's for sale? He is not an offroader, so lockers and such don't matter much to him.

He would like spend in the low 20's, probably 25k max, so we have mostly been looking at 99's and 2000's. Would prefer a private party with a known history

Anybody know of any?

Jared

PS-- I am supposed to go look at a white 99 with 73k miles on it from cars.com today. Anybody know that vehicle?

Thanks for the replies. It looks like my friend is going to buy it--he has reached an agreement with the seller on price and they just need to do the transaction. That is somewhat complicated given that my friend is in Brazil, but it will probably happen pretty soon.

I don't think it is the same one that was pictured. EDIT--- wait-- Tools is talking about the ebay cruiser, I thought he was talking about this one.

Anyway, this one is owned by a guy named Scott In Chandler.

I test drove it, and it seemed find to me. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Even the rear locker worked.

I was a little nervous about this-- recommending my friend buy a car that he has not seen seems risky. I really hope it works out. The guy had all the service records--- all service done at Tempe Toyota. And the owner lives in a near million dollar house (according to Zillow anyway). And it only has 76k miles on it. So chances are it will be a good car.

Thanks for the replies.

Not that it is for sale but if someone wants to give me 18k for a vehicle I paid 12.5k for I take it. :D Very happy with the 100, new Nittos tomorrow morning.:) Anyone want to buy 4 excellent condition 275/70/16 tires?

Yeah, I told my friend about your deal and my friend was not happy. He wanted to find the same kind of crazy deal.

I said "unlikely"

BTW, the seller's broker told us that someone had come up to look at it from Tucson, and had asked about the locker. Was that anybody here?

They freeze up from non-use. This one may have never been used. It actually did take a long time-- maybe 50 yards-- to lock up.

Valid point - I had to do figure 8s to get ours to lock the first time after buying it:doh: . After cycling it several times it locks much faster without the figure 8s. By the looks of the underside it had never been over a bush so my guess it also had never been engauged. Good thing to check before you buy.
