Hallo,
I would like to ask you for help, I have Toyota LC200 V8 Diesel 2008 europe model with KDSS and AHC,i would like to replace and disconect AHC original suspensions to Old Emu. Eny experience?

Thank you very much for heli

slee offroad is the best with this type of work; he is great with the 100 series so I would guess he has some work with the 200 series. send him an email; slee off road.com I think

Im also interested in this as well. I dont live in the US and the only thing in stock here is the OME full 2" suspension.

But why would you want to disconnect the AHC?

I think that AHC gives the best of both worlds - lower ride height on normal roads and extra clearance for offroad conditions.

Fitting Old Man Emu (OME) suspension just means that you have a vehicle that is always at offroad height. In my view of the benefits of AHC, fitting a fixed height suspension system that is always raised is a huge step backwards.

If you have AHC, you can have the benefits of a raised suspension at the press of a button. When you raise the vehicle, it's like its on OME suspension, but only for the short time that you need it.

I don't get a sense that AHC is unreliable, so why remove such a valuable piece of functionality from the vehicle?

Well written!

There is no reason to remove AHC. When you plan to carry much weight - you should consider to equip the stronger AHC Setup from the armored cars, like i have did it.

many of us here in the usa (at least me and a few others) believe the AHC is the weakest part of the LX or the AHC equpt Land Cruiser. With loaded gear and people the system can not handle the load. switching to the Emu set up helps with longevity and more reliability.

I cant say AHC is bad but...
Reason why i would like to replace my AHC unit, unit is dead, so new one is very expensive, i looking for something cheaper, and another reason i have lots of extra on my LC so I need stronger suspension kit, and stronger AHC is around 7000eur (toyota nestle- company from germany) gave me quote so is better to buy old emu nothing fancy propel suspensions.

This company has upgraded my AHC. It was not 7000eur for the AHC Suspension. I guess your wishlist was bigger than "just" the suspension?

You just need the AHC Dampers, the stronger purple springs you can get anywhere.

@r3run33: just watch our travels.. Our Transafrica with 20`000km, near 4to weight and AHC was just the first step. Maybe your "believe" change in same years - about the AHC.

lol 4x4trip I have watched all your videos already! I love them I catch them mostly thru the overland expo site when you post there and the yuotube. But I have to say I go with the fact its expensive to upgrade and fix so my philosophy is that if it broke before it will brake again and I just can't see giving that much money to fix again. My globes where replaced under warranty and i just looked up the parts alone where a lot.

Purple Springs?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.. but where can I get those purple springs from? I'm from the Philippines and upgrading AHC units isn't heard of here
