Any Electronic Experts with the LC200?

Well I am getting all these ideas to install bumper cameras on my 11' Land cruiser lately because of safety reasons that have to do with the location of our driveway. I am talking 3 cameras up front (left/right/front)

The car already comes equipped with a backup camera (VX-R Model) and I am wondering if such setup is possible to integrate with the factory navigation unit. I do not mind flicking a switch and overriding the nav screen for that moment where i need to use the cameras.

I know it has been done with these look-alike aftermarket ones but have never seen it done on the VXR models with the OEM Screens (which also controls the AC via touch screen).

In summary, can it be done with just wires and control boxes without the need of software and have everything else function normally (AC, Radio, etc.)? If so, can you share a high level how-to?

I want to add this too so I can see what I'm about to drop into when I go over a ridge out in the wild.

You will need to install this unit:

Your cameras will plug into it and it will convert it to a format the head unit can understand.

What you do disconnect the GVIF plug from the Nav unit (accessed in back of glove box) and conect this unit in between that and the screen.

I am about to do this mod myself. The way it works is when you start the car it reverts to the normal screens as per stock situation. You install a small push button near the steering wheel that cycles through RGB, Video 1, 2, 3, then back to OE screen. You can turn off the ones you don't want to cycle through, eg 1, 2, original, 1, 2, original with the switches on the unit. I'm told its pretty much plug and play from Aussie Tony who has already done it.

One issue however is that you have to swap the wires over as described here.

Tony says it works really well and intergrates neatly. For example if you have a camera selected then hit the heater, CD, FM etc etc they come over the screen in the same way they do over the nav screen.
