Hey all,

Hope you are all doing well! I am about to embark on a 3B/H42 swap into my 1965 fj45 swb land cruiser. I have a couple of advisors (ukaviator) and gearheads (Hilux), but can always appreciate good help or advice with this project. Does anyone know how to do or have ever done a manual glow plug wiring mod on a 3B? If anyone knows about this and can help, I will buy the pizza or the beer!

cheers,

Joel

Joel,
I have the wiring diagram available in my BJ70 manual. This is not exactly what you are requesting, but it may be a useful step.

Have you checked the diesel forum yet? This should not be new territory so it is just a matter of hooking you up with the right expertise.

Congratulations on your swap. I am sold on the 3B. It is weak on power in traffic, but it is good at the pump and cruising at speed.

Thanks, dude! I have searched on mud and found some good info, I just wanted to post and see if any locals had some experience with the diesel thing... I'm stoked about this project!

Cheers, joel

wish I could do one in my 4runner

Andrew,
You can ... just buy a half cut diesel Hilux and have it shipped to you so you can have all the parts needed. Is that a cost effective way to convert your 4runner; probably not. Will your :princess: authorize such an expense; probably not. But you can do it, so when do you start?

I am running GM 6.2L and 6.5l diesels in my cruisers. But the glow plug wiring should be the same, I just use a contentious duty solenoid and a spring loaded push button.
