Hi all,

Temuulen, cool HZJ70! :)

I am confused about your question. You ask about installing leaf springs, is this on your 70 Series TLC, or on a trailer?

Both are about the same: remove the old parts, and install the new parts. The Toyota service manual will say the torque specifications.

Regards,

Alan

OK, so you are looking to go from "spring under" (SUA) to "spring over" (SOA). At the bare minimum, you will need to weld new spring perches on top of the axles, buy new u-bolts, and you will need to tweak the u-bolt plates a bit to allow for shock mounting. This swap creates a lot of other items that have to be addressed and have been covered on MUD on numerous spring over or spring-over threads. Your best bet would be to find someone who has done this type of modification before.
