I guess specifically BJ74 owners. If you run satellite radio, where did you place the antenna that gives you good reception? The FRP top is not ideal since it's not a metal surface so I was thinking beside the standard am/fm antenna like I've seen on some 80 series LC's. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Mine is on the left front panel, just outside of the hood gap. The wire runs into the gap and along the seam to the left door, then in under some weatherstripping. I never lose the signal unless I'm in really tall trees.

yeah the tree thing is kindof a drag. I don't think there's a road on my commute that isn't overgrown with trees.

that and when do you want the good reception? when you're off in the boonies and don't get normal reception. which brings you back to the tree thing.

I don't think they designed that system for BC.

I've got XM radio installed in my BJ-73 (with FRP top). The antenna is mounted on the cowl--just below where the windshield hinge is located. It's a nice horizontal surface and although not as ideal as a roof mount, it gives me great reception.

I ended up doing something similar to what dieseldog did. Seems to work good so far though I haven't been into any tall stands of trees yet.

Had a buddy put his on the top of his snorkel by simply drilling a small metal plate onto the top and tada the perfect spot for good reception. If you don't have a snorkel well they are way to cool to not have one so you better get one. Plus they sound cool when you have your window down and they start sucking air.
