I'm thinking of buying one of those once I got my trailer built up because I have to park it on the street.
What do you guys think, are they worth buying?

I'm thinking about the "The UniBull". Any better ideas out there?

I made something myself:

That looks good. How does it work? What did you make the insert make out of?

That clock could be cut pretty easy, your design is cool though. what i would suggest would be the same inserts you have then buy one of the locking trailer hitch pins. and run it through the center. That way even if they had bolt cutters there would be nothing they could cut. however if your really worried about the trailer youll have to do other things as well

Sorry wolf a good smack with a hammer and I just stole your trailer.. The design is good, but the lock won't work. I can get that cheesy padlock off faster than it takes to use a key. I suggest you do like the lower picture and protect the padlock.

That one looks better. But really with a light rope around the tongue I can drag it out of there easy.

I think the lock on the tongue is a good deterrent but I would add a wheel lock and lock the brakes on.

Anything can be stolen, but the longer it takes for them to figure out what was done the less likely it will be snagged.

But Wolf I could knock the padlock off pretty easy. Remember thieves travel with bolt cutters and hammers/screwdrivers.

Deterrents are better than nothing for sure. If you can keep the minor thieves at bay then great.

Even if you put a really good lock on there, they could just loop a rope around the tongue and go.

If you lock the wheel they can lift it onto a truck.......

There is no stopping it if they REALLY want to take it. But deterring the knuckle headed thiefs(majority of them) is what you want to do anyhow.

If you can make cap to cover the lock on your set up it will prevent someone from knocking off that padlock to easily.

Also lock the brakes, or chain a tire to the body. Or better yet use a couple aircraft stlye cables, vinyl coated (3/16 diameter) that is hard to cut than a chain.
