I hate to ask, but I jacked up my antenna, and I need to replace just the antenna. The motor still works fine, but will not fully retract ,Because the base is bent. I saw replacement antennas on e-bay. Do I have to pull the fender guard from the fender, or can I feed it thru the top with the motor pulling it in place. Thanks for any info.

As long as the cable is not broken feed in thru top. Remove the nut, have someone turn on the radio and the motor will push tha mast out. Note which way the teeth are facing. Feed in the new mast cable and have someone turn the radio off. The motor will pull in the new mast. Reinstall nut. Sometimes it wont pull all the way in until it is cycled a couple times

X2. Easy day.

I'm looking to do a Tacoma non retractable whip mod on mine o avoid the bending. Been through 2 car washes with the radio on before learning my lesson
