ok so I'm headed out west for a few days and have a temp 2meter install setup on my reg cab pickup....any good ideas on routing the antenna coax from the roof top. Generally I've done the lazy thing...pinch the wire on the passenger side window (comeing through the window). Tentatively the antenna will reside on the roof of the cab. I've got a tool box in the bed but I've assumed putting the antenna there was not so great of an idea. Did not know if there was a non-invasive way to run the coax from the antenna inside to the interior of the cab.

Antenna is a magnetic base model and I only use this setup infrequently on my truck as I've not been motivated to drill any new holes in the cab or otherwise.

I can think of two ways here. One being through the third brake light inside the cabin, and the other through the vent between the cabin and bed.

My old 81 Toyota 4X4 pickup had a rubber plug on both sides of the cab. You might find something similar on your vehicle. If you don't mind cutting the connector off, the bare end might slide through an existing wire run.

thanks....I'll look around tomorrow on the truck to see what's workable. Just looking for a temp solution using a magnetic base antenna and not removing the connector on the radio end of the cable. I'm pretty much sold on having to just pinch the cable at the door opening. If I ever get one of those headache type racks I'll setup a permanent solution. Just not a fan on drilling a 14 year model 2500 HD. Appreciate the tips...
