I got the boat on the rack and the motor in the bed. Went out to southern Utah, between Kanab and Page, near Lake Powell. Had a great time with my daughter and her family. All 7 of us sleeping in the RV for a week. Not the toughest trails nor the most exciting driving, but a great time, and a successful test of the Tacoma as trailer and boat hauler.

And it is nice to see the Honda outboard with a wake behind it!

Yes, the Mercury 2-stroke let me down at the last minute, so the Honda made this trip instead. That 5 HP motor and 6 Mph does not get you far very quickly on such a big lake. But my wife likes the putting around.

Spring is not the season at Lake Powell. The water temp was 55 while the air was about 80. In August, the water gets to 80 and the air probably 95-100. That seems to be when they open the resorts and rent the house boats. My little boat is not going to be able to pull a water skier even with the 25 Hp Mercury. So you are correct, no water skis.

Hey Spark? How are you? Yes, this is the same Barney you knew when you were stationed out here in San Diego. We are still getting along without you, though we still think of you now and then, especially when we camp in the cold.
