I finally had enough time, without people bothering me, to install my $70 Sony receiver from Crutchfield.
I put in a 12V system at the same time for powering accessories like the radio and other junk.

Thanks to everyone here who helped me out either with direct advice or by posting similar work!
I knew nothing about relays until I was brought along by guys on IH8MUD!

I started with a trolling motor circuit breaker right at the battery.
Also a relay to turn the 24-12 Volt converter off and on. The relay is triggered by the former 24V radio power.

Went through the firewall via the rubber grommet and then mounted a Pyle 720Watt converter above the glovebox. I used the bolt holes that were already up in there on a crossbar. Grounded both the 12V and the 24V to its mounting bolt. As folks here told me, it works fine.

The main power runs right down behind the passenger (left side) kick panel. I did not want to cut the original trim but I could not find a more sensible place to put the Blue Sea fuse box. I might spray paint the cover.

I know some people are deeply concerned about flares, so.....

At some point I will be mounting more gauges. They will probably be 12V. I decided to install another relay that would be energized by the tail light/parking light circuit. Again, the trigger is 24V (there was a tap in place on the 24V cig lighter illumination) and the power it supplies is 12V from the new fuse block. Right now this gizmo lights up the 12V LED fog light switch and it WOULD have given the 12V radio a sense of night and day but for $70, a Sony radio just stays lit up all the time. There was am L bracket already in place next to the clutch pedal.

More soon..

Silly fog light switch installed. This thing did not fit so well. I had to make a spacer to get it up and away from the face of the panel.

I borrowed a label maker from our school's network guy. It was awesome and it will pay off even more years later when I've forgotten what I did this time.

I was surprised that the factory bracket and the radio had holes that matched right up.
I could scan or make a laser cut cardboard copy of my brackets and send them if you want.

Thanks for the great write up probably gonna follow this route as well.
Where did you get that 24v 30 amp circuit breaker on the battery? I've never seen one like that. Also how did you combat the loss of radio memory or did you?
I ordered one of those micro amp converters made for keeping radio memory
