Mates, after an oil and filter change my 105r started running hot. the last two days we had in melbourne 43 and 40 c° so the car started to show weaknesses....
bought her 2 weeks ago....
petrol
tear 2000
4.5 engine
auto
started running hot after an oil change (coincidence)
added oil to fan clutch
replaced thermostat (was stuck closed)
the thermostat i found is not the original, doesn't have the jiggle pin.
still runs hot. almost overheating....
going to clean radiator now
feared a damaged head gasket but there is no air comming from coolant when i open the radiator cap...

Some here have suggested increasing water in the water to coolant ratio mix. Water dissipates heat better than glycol.

Any chance the fan hub is slipping?

Some 80's have added hood vents (link)

Air bubbles in cooling system after t-stat change? I've always thought that's what the jiggle pin hole was for; maybe not.
I've had that problem on other engines, took several heating and cooling cycles to get it worked out.
