I have been on mud for a few months now but just picked up my 40 about 3 weeks ago. I am a past 4runner nut and have owned several 1st and 2nd gen runners. Just started doing a little off roading last year in my stock 88 runner, wanted to move to something more capable and have always loved vintage yotas so the 40 was perfect. I have only made about 4 trips, all to uwhre with the stock 4runner but would love to meet some of you guys and make so local runs and get familiar with some other trails around here so give me some ideas so me and the family can hit the trails. Thanks and glad to be a part of the family.

Welcome! The 1st generation 4R is what got me hooked on Toyotas - the first time I saw a lifted one a long (loooong) time ago, I was smitten! But have yet to own one. Hopefully you can make it to a club ride or get-together some time soon!

thanks

Thanks Fellas and glad to be here :D. I have been through many 4runners(1st gen-4,2nd-2) but non of them as enjoyable as this 40 is :steer:. I will post some pics as soon as I can get time to load them up been super busy, the wife is due in about 4 weeks (#3),workong load of OT(not complaining) and the fj is getting rear main installed.

Welcome aboard, look forward to having you on some of the upcoming events. Keep us posted on the little one as they enter the world as well.

will do!

Thanks Southern! Will do, wife is starting to have some light contractions so it wont be long now! Got the 40 back yesterday so hope to get some pics tomm. Steering is scary so may get you guys to help me figure out the problem!! thanks.

Finally got around to taking a few pics, just got it back from getting rear main seal replaced. Now I got to do some work to the front end. Where is the best place to buy all the front end bushings(tie rod, spring, etc)?

The multi color paint on the right front fender is test paint, trying to pick a color!
I need some 35's!!!!

looks great!!! cant wait to see it on the trails.

Kurt at cruiser outfitters has most of your bushings and seals and is very helpful. IPOR and other verndors should as well. OF course manafre and spectre but not the cheapest.

I have your 35's :D two sets to chose from, come and get em
4 for 400 with wagon wheels (summit mud dawg)
5 for 600 with chromies (bfg mt's)
good tread on both, in high point, drop me a pm
