Another ignition experiment (yet again I'm the guinea pig)

So okay, Before I get back home I'm going to order one of those DirectHits systems with a set of Brisk spark plugs. I've heard nothing but good stuff about these systems, so I figure it's worth a try. I'm curious to see if it makes any difference on top of my Mallory setup.

Could be interesting...

As always, I'll post my results. Good, bad, otherwise...

ouch...thats alot of money for an "experiment" but please, let us knoow. its still cheaper than the electronic ign. conversions.

Yeah, it's spendy. I wouldn't be doing it if they didn't offer a money back guarantee. I'd still do an electronic ignition conversion just for the reliability, but this looks like a good way to augment whatever system you have installed. I'd be really curious to see how it would do on my mom's 2000 4Runner if it does well in my truck.

Spook - one word: Bull****!

The fancy electrode spark plugs don't work any better than the old single, side electrode ones. The spark will only arc between the closest points, & that's closest by less than an angstrom (.000001 meters).

It's merely a marketing ploy. Most people won't even install them within 30 days.

Multiple discharge ignitions are still state-of-the art. Open your plug gap to .050 & see what that does - the Mallory coil I sold you will push a fat spark across a wide gap for better burn.

I call BS! I have gone through most all of that crap one time or another. OEM Plugs wide gapped with a big ass coil and you are set.

I like Jacobs a lot but I dont see tha bang for the buck. I still use them on my 40s but dont plan to buy another. MSD killed my ignightor on the 62 so no more of them.

True that the spark will only go to the closest electrode, but look at how much exposure the spark has when it does go off. They don't claim that the spark will fire to all electrodes, so I'm a little less inclined to raise the bull**** flag on the Brisk plugs. Plus they don't cost any extra when ordering the DH set, so I figure, why not :D

As far as the DH set, I wouldn't be tempted if I had read one bad thing about 'em, but that's just it: I haven't. Every review I've read on their stuff has been shining. Even when installed on high output ignitions. I've got the Promaster coil you sent me all wired up with my HyFire VI and it's outstanding. Plugs gapped to .045 and it made a big performance difference. Like I said though, this is just an experiment. If nothing comes of it, I'll let you guys know. But if it lives up to the hype, expect some gloating from me :grinpimp:
