Another Hilux! (1 Viewer)

Just picked up a Hilux body from a friend (thanks John) and getting excited to build it up! Been awhile since I've messed with RC stuff but I use to fly, and drive RCs as a kid. Soooo when I found out about rc rock crawling (a few years ago) I decided it was time to get back in to an old hobby.

The bad news is we're about to move so I can't start a new project but hopefully with in a year when things have settled down and the $$$$ starts to flow again I can begin the build!!!!

The bed has already been bobbed and the floor of the bed has been lowered. It's primed and ready to paint...thinking about painting it a stock Toyota color and at a minimum put stock stripes on the vehicle.

Thanks! I found the same image (stripes over wheel wells '81-'83) at the local Toyota dealership and was planning on using that design. At first I was considering the white and red paint with yellow, orange and red stripes across the fender and door but I like the 3 stripes over the wheel wells better.

Were did you get or find that body i am looking for one for my Rc truck? Any help would be great!

I traded a sand blasting cabinet for the body from a friend. Ge got the hilux from one of the rc crawler forums, but you can buy them new from Tamiya and their dealers

Getting a little closer! This spring I bought a Tamiya Highlift from a friend and also traded an old Kyosho nitro for an AX10 from another friend. I've been messing around with them both and decided to use the Highlift for the Hilux and the AX10 for a FJ40 build. Once the honey dooooos slow down (just bought a house) I'll start building...
