My kids and I are back from anothe excellent August trip to Ouray, CO. Awesome weather and great scenery. We did the Alpine Loop, Engineer Pass to Lake City and Cinnamon Pass to Silverton. We also did the Black Bear Pass to Telluride. Here are a couple pictures. I would highly suggest this trip to families. There are some local waterfalls to hike to and the hot springs pool and nice city park keep the kids busy.

Very nice...the family and I will be heading up there on the 22nd of this month for a week. CANT WAIT!!

Black Bear looked very similar to last year...maybe a little wider. I think the narrowest part is before you get to the switchbacks. It is the last right before you begin the descent. Great views and way overrated, at least now, for its difficulty level.

Try it in the pouring rain. :ban:

No thanks! When I went is was slop and my edge-side rear tire was half the tread-width off the road after the rear end slid twice after the waterfall. No thanks! I'll take a quad. :D

Must be an A-trac thing:flipoff2:

Very cool we were lucky enough to have the FJcruiser summit there this year...black bear was closed and they pulled some strings and opened it for us:cheers:

I love the area been going to the San Juans since 2 years old...my first memory was in Telluride. Glad you made it out there!
