In keeping with the recent theme, I purchased my first Cruiser over the weekend. The purchase served as the end of an often frustrating 6-month search. I won't bore you with the specs, but she's a 2000, with 165k on the clock, rust free, has been impeccably maintained, and importantly, dons the river rock green color that I've long admired. I would like to extend my gratitude to you all for providing advice along the way and for creating such an invaluable resource for a first-time purchaser. I've attached a couple poorly taken photographs of the rig. I immediately removed the running boards and bug deflector and am now torn between purchasing tires (likely BFG A/T's), or Slee Step Sliders. Any reasonable justification for one over the other is greatly appreciated. Current tires are off-brands but in good shape. For what it's worth, I plan to do little off road travel, except for the 1 mile trek through fairly tame, but often saturated farmland when enroute to the duck blind a dozen or so times each year. Best regards, and I look forward to my membership in this worthy club.

If the tires are good and you aren't going off-road, the step sliders look nicer and give a little rock protection. I also think that is the best color they put on the 100. You ever eat at the Black Sheep on West Marshall? I miss being able to get a USS Brooklyn when driving up 95.

We are on a roll! Congrats @AvCruiser - love that color.

I was in your boat a few years ago. I had all these ideas in my head of what to do, and which first. The best thing I did was relax and enjoy the rig for awhile. Sliders were near the top of my list and I still haven't done them and don't mind at all. I even left the running boards on which was going to happen the first week and I just waited. I don't wheel this rig though. I did buy new BFG All-Terrains in a larger size to fill up the wheel wells and cranked the t-bars to level it a little. It's a little stiffer ride than the original Bridgestones but I still call it the marshmallow mobile because of the body roll and generally squishy ride.

Good luck and enjoy it for awhile.

I just got my new to me Hundy and picked up a set of BFG AT K02s and so far they have been great and surprisingly quiet on the highway. I had no choice though, my tires were shot. Lol
