After taking off the ARB Bullbar a couple of years ago, I decided to build a front bumper for my 60. Modeled after 2mbb’s design (https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/77311-front-bumper-project.html), my 17 yr-old and I decided to do it. I had a piece of ¼ inch 2 X 6 tubing and some 2” pipe. I ended up buying a cheap 12-ton Harbor Freight bender and here is what we came up with. Bumper has many flaws, but still proud of it. Bonding with my son was great!

Here are a couple of pics from the build...

Thanks Clint. Made the rear bumper w/tire carrier & 2 jerry can box ~2 years ago.

Thanks OC. We had fun making it.

Awkward. :D

that looks great ... WELL DONE

see if you can flip the lights over ... never looked at how they seal upside down ... but at that hight you cant run em on the street :(

Good job on the bumper! When my oldest Son was young, we built a FJ40 together. He's 40 now and working on his stuff with my Grandson. Good memmories, Thanks :)

Bumper looks great. A little hint with the HF kinker. Its tedious but if you fill the pipe with sand, packed tight before you make the bend it actually bends close to a manual bender. I have a JMR manual bender but I have seen bends done that way that are pretty nice considering the sub $100 price. It almost completely eliminates the kinking and gives a smooth appearance.

I thought about flipping them over and now I will. Thanks for hooking me up with these lights Joel.

This is what keeps kids on the right path IMO.. Great work guys and glad to see the father and son relationship is still strong..

I agree. He just graduated from HS last week & has always enjoyed working on cars. Still likes to help the old-man on occasion.

Thanks. Cant wait till I have grandkids. Hopefully they'll like Cruisers too.

I tried the sand in the pipe but it did not work as planned. After meesing one of the bends, we just went without the sand.
