I'm down for the 40 stretch & the rear springs on the 62. I got lots of help (much appreciated help) last year on my junk. I'm ready to wrench for who ever needs it this year.

What about the gift exchange idea? Anyone? I already got something cool to bring. Will I be the only one? Will Jimmy & I just have to exchange gifts? Will that make us look a little wierd? Will it be a gift exchange extravaganza equaled by no other? Tune into Outback Offroad Gear, The 09' Tech Session to find out the answers to these & many other exciting questions. Be There!

I'm in for the gift exchange....I will still be in the Cruiser Holiday spirit!!!
Tony, I'm still waiting on my beadlocks,(:bang:) this is the hold up on your tires. I should have them before the tech sessionn so I could actually drop your tires off in Anderson in the morning on my way to the Carl's shop. I'll be in touch.

For anyone who may not know where Carl's shop is....Outback Offroad Gear is located on the south side of Indy at 8475 N. 700 east. from I65, take the Greenwood exit and go east about 5 miles to 700 East. Turn left and go up about a block or two and then turn right between two houses. The shop is in the back. Big building. Here is the Mapquest link: Map of 8475 N 700 E Indianapolis, IN by MapQuest

By the way, I am in for the gift exchange. So far that is Tom, Tony, myself and Jimmy.

Sounds great Tom, Just lemme know.

I'm in for the exchange.

Anyone want to throw down on some rules for it? (i.e. $ amount, etc.)

I'd say go with Jimmy's post (#7)...$20 and make it some how related to Cruisers or wrenching. If Bill commits to the gift exchanged we could extend the rules to include charcoal briquettes.

SWEET!!!! $20 worth of Kingsford would last that man a lifetime!:D

I firmly beleive that when no one is looking Bill burns a big pile of coals for no reason, and just laughs & laughs.

There's probably a clinical term for such an affliction. Also there's probably an overpriced government study to confirm that such a condition exists.

I'm currently looking into a buisness oppertunity.
The factory will be called ........Willy Wankers' Charcoal Factory ..........and all you sob's will recieve your golden ticket.:flipoff2:

I'm in on the gift exchange.

What Projects are we doing for tech Day does any one know .
I am trying to plan to make sure we have materials for any projects.

Need to Know ASAP please.
I have 3 projects A 4 door FJ40 build,New gears and front axle rebuild on My FJ80 and final My 4-runner pull the 400 pound transfercase. And put the new dana60 front axles in.
So let me know i have all materials for all 3 Projects.

Well... I have a pair of Hella H4 E-code lamps in my truck. I have never installed the relay. As you can guess, they are not as bright as they should be.

I have the relay. If this is feasible, I would appreciate help with the install.

As a side, we have not done too many electrical mods at the tech sessions.

Any electricians want to chime in?

I will be all hands for anything else.
Cheers,
ben

BTW, I am in for the gift exchange.

Carl,

I'm planning to bring my FJ62 to swap the rear springs as mentioned earlier in the thread. AFAIK I have all the pieces to do the job (springs, u-bolts, shocks, frame pins, shackles, bushings and extended brake lines). I'll probably toss in my brake line making tools too just in case. If you or another member has some stock or close to stock FJ60/62 shackles I'm interested in buying otherwise I have some stupid long MAF jobs to install in the rear (front is already done).

Benji,

I've done the swap your doing and can help if needed. It's pretty simple though if you have the harness in hand...

I'm bringing cookies or other desert type item. I'll pass on the gift exchange deal.

Nick

And put the new dana60 front axles in.

Being the astute observer that I am, I can help but notice that "front dana 60s" is plural... WTF are you up to now? was the 609 (or 960).... getting boring and now you need rear stear?

Why no more 609 hybrid axle?

I need to rebuild the carb on my 60 and get it running w/I two weeks. A guy stopped by the house Monday and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. So I think I have sold it. If there is room/time I also need to install a steering stab on my 80 and adjust the brake proportioning valve. I also thought I could bring my new stud welder/dent puller if anyone has any dents they want pulled out. If someone wants to just try it out, they can do so on my rockers. They need some help.
