Another great charlotte driver :rolleyes: managed to t-bone and flip around Andrea's car when she was driving to work today. The traffic lights were out due to the storm and the other driver just didn't stop and went straight into her.

She is doing ok but is a little sore and shaken up.

I was pissed as hell and ready to kill someone but have calmed down a bit since then :mad:


If anyone has spare time and can look for adds for a 1st gen matrix for price comparrisons please do. I've found a few.

Her car was a 05 base model matrix with 120k on it.


With all the bad drivers in this area (don't get me started on SC) i'm considereing a larger vehicle as a replacement but don't want to get killed on gas bills. I may find an older diesel suburban and get a diesel mercedes for MPG. That way she can drive the sub to work and i'll drive the mercedes when we do long trips.
 
WOW, sorry to hear Al and glad she is ok. Without sounding like a lawyer, I'd still have her checked out at at least an urgent care if not her primary MD. If airbags are deployed, she could have a concussion and not be aware of it yet.

Lets hope this doesn't become a nightmare like it did when Mikaela got hit, it took over 8 months to finally resolve. Good luck...:beer:

Wow man. That stinks. Glad all is well with her though.

This is me just thinking aloud here but if you could afford it i would really think about an 80 for her, or possibly a 100 series. I know they are rough on gas but my wifes life is worth it to me. I was glad / pissed to be in mine for my accident.

I had thought about it but really don't want a second 80 (unless it was a diesel swap) and we don't really like the 100 series. It is a possibility though
 
Glad to hear Andrea is ok.

You're right about the drivers in Charlotte. You gotta be on the defensive at all times :steer:.
Sometimes I think I'd rather drive in NYC traffic.
 
Glad to hear she is okay! You would think people would realize that after THE Storm last night, to slow down.

I know I prefer Mary to drive to work in the Tundra extended cab in good weather and in bad weather in the 4runner (now LC) because of the bad drivers.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Glad that Andrea is OK.

From Craigslist in NC:
2005 Matrix: $12000
2004 Matrix: $5500-$9300
2006 Matrix: $7500-$9000
 
You know whats really sad though. I actually feel safer in your city on my bike than here in Nam. Been there numerous times on my bike for funerals and never felt like i do here riding.
 
Official word is car is totaled. Looks like they are going to pull a double fault though due to lack of witnesses and the fact that the traffic lights were out :mad:

After the payoff to toyota there will be about $2200 left over. We don't want or need another car payment right now so we are ballparking a $3000 to look for a car. Ofcourse for my :princess: it still has to be cute, that or a gigantic mud truck (not happening though)

She is leaning towards an old bug right now (which is fine, easy to work on and I can teach her how to do it)
 
When I get back from DK, I'll give you a call. I had a long PM on the details of the Focus, but my laptop battery ran out of juice...
 
Ok so right now the list of things that she will drive are
any "cute" vw
Samurai
Big Mud truck (still not happening unless it runs on water)

perhaps a focus

so keep your eyes out for any of those.
