And the Fun Begins

Got the 40 finished up Saturday afternoon with the help of Don P. & Kris (IBCruisen). It runs and drives, no thanks to the Optima battery..... In all fairness it has been used hard over the last three years. Pulled a spare Wal-Mart battery from under the workbench that's been there almost 2 years untouched and it fired her up

Went and picked up the camper from the farm this morning. Got 'er cleaned up, loaded up, the trailer hooked up and on the highway straight up 2:00 pm. Drove .9 miles and ate lunch, then got serious about driving.

Rolled into Springfield, Mo about 7:30, ate dinner at Las Hacienda. Very good food, just follow the signs off I-44. Pulled into the KOA 'bout 8:30, hooked up the camper and decided to try out the WiFi...... so here I sit

Couple things I forgot so far; Cash and the brisket for Wednesday . If anyone knows of a good BBQ joint between Springfield, Rolla & Salem feel free to speak up.

In the morning I think we're gonna head over to Fantastic Caverns, then probably one a those make your teddy bear places for Holley, then Bass Pro.

I'm think'n we'll break camp Tuesday morning and head to Salem and see if I track down Clutchee's pappy then to Flat Nasty Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

I'm just glad to be off work, out of town and ready to wheel. The fact that many of the rest of ya are going to Monday is a bonus

I've got court two days my first week back, one charging appointment on a child abuse case and at least two new burglaries to investigate...... I plan on enjoying every minute away this week!!!!!!

I always see that billboard near Salina, KS (or is it Abilene?) on my way back from Hays or Colorado on I-70 East. "Lamberts Cafe, Home of Throwed Rolls - 356 Miles Ahead" (or something like that). I think its for the one in Sikeston though.
