Amusing story about brakes (1 Viewer)

So I got told by the dealership that my brake pads needed replacement and they would burnish the rotors. Instead I decided to order some upgrades (maybe side grades?) from Buybrakes.com. I ended up getting dimpled & slotted EBC along with EBC green pads, as I don't tow or have a lot of aftermarket stuff on my GX.

I'm waiting at the dealership for a while (I almost took a test drive in a TX to recharge my phone on the charging pad) and midway through, they notify me that they aren't going to put the rear rotors on because they aren't the same. Pretty funny. I let Buybrakes know and they ask me to send pictures.

So... did Stevie Wonder pack this box?

I guess they thought you need the reduced rotating mass on the right side only?

I used to recommend raybestos but, nowdays, leave the parts acquisition to my trusted indy who can at least warranty them on their own channels.

Were you planning on brake fluid flush as well? Easy job on the 460 using a Motive pressure bleeder anyway...

No on the fluid, I was also planning on SS lines and then I would have done it, but the lines were out of stock.

Is their any upsize rotors that can fit on the oe rims? bbks are not going on oe rims from my understanding

Yes, they are sending me replacement rotors and a RMA to return the pictured ones.

Does the fluid in the ABS module get flushed as well using the Motive system?

I have seen some debate that there could be a small amount of residual fluid left in the ABS actuator that isn't extracted during a brake flush. Honestly don't know for sure.

Perhaps a combo of flush and Techstream brake bleed would be best option......or a secondary flush after an empty parking lot ABS actuation
