I found this saw on CL locally and would be interested in buying it - does anyone have any information on these saws?! I found some mixed info on the net - it seems that they may be made in Taiwan, though some others indicated that is was made in USA in '80s (I would certainly prefer that).

She's looking to get $150. I saw other expired auctions and that's what they sold for. Here is her ad:
10 in and 12 in Radial Arm Saw and Metal Cutting Band Saw

Any information on these saws or where to purchase spare parts, blades, belts would be great.

Thx,
James

That looks like the Grizzly/Jet/Harbor Freight metal cutting band saw clones that are made in Taiwan. My Jet works great and I use the hell out of it.

I bought the harbor freight version 10 or 15 yrs ago for $138 new, and use the crap out of it. you just need to get decent blades for it.

Not if you buy it used :) I think I got it for $150 off of Craigslist. You just have to search.

Now that's a deal that I'd like to find.

Separately, is there a way to accurately measure the blade length on a band saw with unknown blade dimensions?!

I brought this saw home today after checking it out at a lady's big garage. Picked up a handful of useful items from the 'free' bin that she had stashed for throwing away. All in all a good trip. I paid $70. It came with a heavy-duty cart on 4 casters that allows me to easily move the saw from place to place.

I changed the oil from the gear box right away and gave it a once over with a wire brush. There were 2 spare blades. The saw is slow but it cuts straight and even. So far I like it a lot. I've already cut close to 10 large pieces with it and am very pleased.
