I saw this online once and on a few 60's in the Caymans. Any ideas? I would like to do this to my 83. Would 40 ambulance doors work with mod's to the doors and rear hatch? Thanks.
Todd

40 doors would take such extensive modification that you might as well use doors off of a suburban.

I also heard that you have to do extensive modification to make even the correct doors fit. You might be better off just importing one cheaply?

TLC has done it...........and its spendy!

no way 40's doors would work

Wonder if the ambulance door glass have the defogger?

I like the ambulance doors, but the drop down tailgate has come in hand more often then ambulance doors would. I don't really see a use for them. The tailgate makes a good bench.

Just curious, why would you want them on your rig?

what is the benefit?

don't like the "look" though

The look and maybe the cool factor of not being available in the states.

For the look but also would make it easier for me to reach tools, etc. deep in the cargo. I am always stepping on my gate and it's kinda sagging.

The tailgate is the perfect 'bench' for picnic's on the trail, or loading the rack.

The lift gate also makes a nice umbrella to wait out a storm while fishing or whatever.

Agreed. I have used this "feature" quite a few times.

They are available on 'Cruisers down here in Central America. Take a drive down here with your '60 and you can probably find someone who'll do the swap for you (labour is cheaper here too). It makes a cool holiday!

Yeah they did on the more upmarket 61 -62 series.
The basic 78 series troopies still dont have them. If you scratch the coating on the demister wires you have to replace the windows.
Toyota Aust quoted me almost $500 AUD for the 2 windows on my 73 series.
