They're no zebco 33's, but they sure are purdy. I can hear it already... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Fish on!

i am super pumped, i got the reels for an amazing deal from a fellow mudder and picked the rods up separately. i wish the boat were up and running, but i already cant wait for next year's blue fin season, and everything in between. and you have to work your way up to a zebco 33. Lets be real.

ok, so i know i posted this in the fishing section, but when you are just this excited, you just have to get it out there. Just got some new Blue Fin Slayers. Tiagra 80s on 100# custom rods.

So that's what you spent your skid plate money on:hhmm:

A buddy that I go out with launches from Broad Creek and out to Beaufort. You hit the jetty out by Lookout at all? That and the AR buoys are usually busy when I fly around the OBX.

You are spot on. My skid plates became rods and reels.

We fish the lookout jetty in the fall for trout, but spend most of our time off shore. We also fish some of the AR buoys when the schoolie dolphin get closer in in the late summer. I know a lot of people king mackerel fish those spot. We fish a lot of the closer spots like north west places, the tens and west rock. Early we usually hit up the 90 ft drop, big rock and swansboro hole etc. Just got to find those weed lines and temp breaks. Are you a pilot?

Parker, here are pics of last summers fishing trip out of Hatteras Village. First time we have tried bailing dolphin. Had an absolute blast! We will be back at Hatteras in June or July sooooooo, I'm sure we could cover the gas bill! hint hint..

Wow, both pics are awesome. Thats a straight slaughter!! I bet there were some tired arms after that one.

I have seen you flying around many times. I have even waved and gotten waves back before when they have been real low. Hopefully you will never have to come pick me up, but what a great job and thanks for doing it.

Not near as tiring as catching tuna. You actually keep the first dolphin you catch about 10 feet behind the boat, then everyone else throws in their line and the school stays with the first dolphin. We just sorta circled after taking off the fish, bait, then throw again. Took a better part of the day to get everyone on the same page and remembering to keep one dolphin always on the line behind the boat.

And Alex, how about spooking those 8 plovers at OBX back north where they belong! :ban: Thank-you for your service!

We are usually looking for chicks in bikinis, or not in bikinis for that matter:grinpimp:

We are usually too busy looking for the above mentioned chicks in bikinis, and looking for sharks;)

Hopefully you will never have to come pick me up, but what a great job and thanks for doing it.

Thank-you for your service!

Eh, it's a great job and we love the fact that we can give something back to E. NC with our maritime search and rescue, even if it is only when tragedy strikes:frown:

Ok, fine, quit checking out and waving back to my wife and sister.

its called no skid plates for while, keep using my rattle canned frame in the rear as a rear bumper, and another bottle of stop leak to keep the fluid in the steering. . .

I just re-prioritize my addictions every once in a while; not to mention some of the ridiculous steals i got on the reels.

The boat comes out next week. We ended up with a pair of new 300s. It is a logistical nightmare getting the electronics guy, tower guy, fiberglass and engine guy all lined up with the yard to all get working at the same time. Hopefully she will be done in the next few weeks.
