Alternator swapping (1 Viewer)

I am asking for guidance and advises for upgrading an alternator. I have a 1985 hilux running a 2.4d engine with and external voltage regulator that keeps damaging batteries, so I would like to know which alternator can I use on this engine that has a built-in regulator?
