Hello,
My project FJ 40 came without the wiring harness or voltage regulator. Anyone knows where I can source this?

Will a 1969 regulator work on my vehicle? Thanks

Maybe? year model market helps. You could do a one wire alternator and get way more amps. Monitor voltage instead for simplicity
Have you look at the vendor's list. VR should be easy to find, wiring harness pre made will be harder. Look at the wiring diagram for you rig. Free manuals - Land Cruiser Factory Service Manuals (FSMs) - https://www.cruisercult.com/factory-service-manuals The Chilton's book has wiring diagrams too.

Thanks Charlie, Sorry I left out such important details
My FJ40 is a 1966 build frame (it has a 1968 title)
I did use the wiring diagram and ran 12 v to the stator that gets powered up when the ignition switch is on, an 8 gauge cable to the battery and a ground. Seems to be working just fine.
After digging thru the boxes of parts that came with the car, I did find most if not all of the original wiring harness. But the person who stripped the car down did not apparently want to reuse the old wiring because they just cut it up instead of carefully undoing all the connections and labeling them.
I think with some effort, I can put this back together. Is it worth the hassle or am I better off running new wiring (car came with a new rewiring kit)

You might want to checkout Coolermans website. He's been one of the wiring gurus around here. I believe he made a replacement harness for his 40. He also sells color correct wires and plugs. Most aftermarket wiring harnesses have to be adapted to the 40's needs, which can be a struggle. If you can rebuild, repair or make a new harness, I think you'll be miles ahead. He also has an extensive list of wiring diagrams.

Your OEM wire is old enough to retire. I'd bet it has spices from other issues in the past. Patching it back together could work and will be cheap for the price of connectors and maybe time. You can get new coded wire and correct connectors or just buy like 5 colors and a wire label printer and go after it.

Back in the 90's I had the wiring diagram from Chilton's for my 72 blown up to 24x36". On the back I wrote part number, tune up & torque specs then had it laminated
