I just put in a new sound system in my fj62. It lasted about 10 minutes before it started losing power and ultimatly died. It has a new battery, the wiring I believe is perfect as i have done this a ton of times. Could it be the alternator after a wooping 10 minutes? And if so what is a high output option to avoid this from happening again. Thanks!

What are the specs on your sound system?

At one point I ran:

-Pioneer Head Unit
-Pioneer front speakers (small ones, can't remember size)
-Polk Audio 6x9's in the back
-Two 12" subwoofers on a mono amp.

and had no issues.

Just sold the subs a while back. Looking at getting a single 10" and using the same amp.

The high output version is the Mean Green Alternator. Pretty spendy though.
