I swapped out my stock alt for a Mean Green but now I can't get the belt onto the pulley. Are there any tricks get a tight belt fitted? Of course I've already tried levering it on with a pipe/bar/screwdriver, no dice. Do I just need a longer belt? It seems the stock size is 17x1525Li, which I take to be millimeters, but none of the V-belt sizing charts I've found mention any "Li" cross-section.

My roommates want my truck out of the living room, help!

So either the new alt is farther away from the crank or it has a larger pulley, or both. If the pulley is larger, will your old one fit on the new alt?

Otherwise, if you can get to a NAPA, see if they will guarantee you a refund if you buy several belts knowing one will fit. You can eyeball the cross-section for fit.
