My 45 lpb is never going to be stock, so that gives me a little creative freedom.
The guy that originally built it up made a nice underseat area for stowing straps and tools and junk. But he also removed the stock tank. He had a tank built between the rear frame rails. I still have both halves, part of it was cut off and sealed up when Henry bobbed it, but I plan to re-extend the frame and run the really good bed I have for it.
Part of me wants to put the tank back together and figure out a way to get a filler to it. I know Henry ran it for a while with a crustier bed and that tank, but have no idea how the filler was run, unless a hole was cut in the bed or fender. I'm not sure the angle would work to do a flip down license plate setup. I do like the weight back there to get a little more balance but don't want to cut the bed.
Other idea I had was a transfer tank style tank in the bed. Maybe an L shape with a tool box over the bottom of the L. It isn't a great solution as all the space is gone.
Any ideas? The current filler I moved by just drilling a hole through the bobbed bed so that at least I could fill it without having to tilt the truck at an angle at the pump.
