Due to the removal of the low hanging stock bumper, which houses the stop/tail/turn lights, my BJ73 is receiving normal tail lights in place of the black plastic euro spec dummy tail lights. That means the rear fog light will also be deleted, something I don't want. The search for some type of replacement brought me to a deal on some Toyota part number 81210-89109 LHD rear fog lights for the Hilux and Dyna. The lens of this unit is also used on various 60 and 70 Series Land Cruisers. It's a flush mount unit, and while it comes as a 12V piece, the 24V bulb will drop right in. When I figure out how and where to mount it, I'll post up.

As for why a rear fog? Check this thread on the 200 Series.

No further progress on this. I have a VDJ79 bed, if I get a chance I will check to see if there's a nice place to flush mount it. Toyota also makes a version of this light with a hanging mount bracket.

Great thanks. Some 79 beds have a recess under the tailgate for them, but mine doesn't. I'm looking to install mine on the right hand side in between the hole for the spare wheel winch and the tail light.
