Hi All,

This is my first post and since we are new to Victoria, I thought this was a good place. I have always coveted a cruiser but have never owned one and it is time for that to change. I have poured over this site for the last couple of weeks (how do you continue to work once you own a cruiser !?!) and I still have a few question (actually lots).

It looks like we have a couple of choices to score a cruiser, import one from Japan or the US or find a used Lexus here. I emailed Wayne at Luxury and feel pretty confident that he imports only top notch JDM's. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect in terms of maintenance from 80k on (both routine and major) and also general reliability as this is going to be my dd. I found a few threads about importing from the US but they were a couple of years old. Is it fairly easy to bring a 2000 (or so) LC or Lexus into Canada?

Most importantly, how about hooking up and getting to know the trails available on this island once I have a cruiser in hand.

As far as my current rig, well, an 03 Silverado 2wd :o , currently for sale.

You're welcome to join us at our monthly meeting and trail rides. Next meeting is Wednesday - see https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=178386 for details. At the meeting we'll dicuss the next ride. There's often an extra seat available for those not able to wheel their own Cruiser.

Thanks for the invite. I have been trying to get out of a prior commitment tonight but cannot. Do you meet monthly?

If your looking to wheel on the island, use your rig as a DD AND keep it really nice, I don't recommend an 80 series. They are too big for the tight trails without protection (in my opinion). Ask a couple of our members:crybaby:
I have a '97 LX450 as a DD and have wheeled it once or twice here but I have an FJ40 for around here. I'd love to have a diesel 80 for the fuel mileage tho.
Anyways, you might want to look into a 70 series if you serious about having a double duty rig.
Cheers-
