Had planned on camping this weekend, but things didnt work out so we went for a drive yesterday.

Drove up to 4th of July campground and walked around for a few hours. We got up there real early and we were the only ones. When we got back to the LX around lunchtime the place was packed with cars. Hiked the 4th of July trail and somehow ended up on the Cerro Blanco trail. Ended up hiking just shy of 6 miles overall.

We turned off at Tajique to go up the mountain and came back through Torreon. The drive coming back down was a whole lot prettier.

Very nice - thanks for sharing!

I haven’t been up there in a while, but I think that’s some of the prettiest fall colors in NM, and it’s especially close for us East Mtn folks.

I believe Ali also hiked this area recently. Thank you for posting up. Beautiful!

Yeah, last Sunday. He took the long way home and stopped by my house for cider.

You're welcome. We have been in Florida the past two years during this time and have missed it.
I dont know of anywhere else in the state with maple trees like in the Manzanos.
