Ive read up on airbag lights on mud but mine is on permanent. No key in, vehicle is locked and my dash is lit up like a Christmas tree. Any help much appreciated, mines a 2000 by the way.
I know its a small light but it’s still draining my battery all the same.

Looking at the FSM there is nothing obvious that would make that light stay on. Are you talking about the one in the center of the speedometer that shows the seat and balloon looking airbag?

From the FSM. Possible short in the SRS system wiring or airbag sensor assembly. Here are the testing instructions. From a 2002 FSM but probably identical. Here is step one from procedure DI-604 but it is on page DI-605

Thanks for your help i will try all that as soon as i get a chance. Will post the culprit as soon as i find it.
Dont suppose you know where said airbag sensor assembly is located do you?

Here is the main sensor. It looks like the FSM wants you to disconnect every sensor so you check the wiring. If the light is still on when all sensors are disconnected the wire must be shorted. Have you done any work on the vehicle lately that may have resulted in a broken or frayed wire?

Well all that ive done is past week is waxoiled the whole underbelly inside doors, chasis ect, put new wheels and tires on and put new brake pads on rear wheels. Also adjusted hand brake. Cant see any of that doing it. The light did come on a few months ago but it was faint not full brightness and it went out by its self. I was chuffed as i thought my cruiser is that good it fixes itself :)

Just notice these have stopped working now, is that suggesting its a sensor under seat? View attachment 1623675
Good morning Matthew,

These photos are from the Toyota Land Cruiser Factory Service Manual for a 2002 along with the Electrical Wiring Diagram. I think I paid $50 USD delivered from Ebay.
Here is a photo of the wiring locations.

The airbag and power seats are from separate power supplies and show to have separate grounds, but P22 shows to be a pretensioner for the airbag and it is under the right seat. P24, P30-P33 are for the right side power seat and they are under that seat also. In theory some broken wires would cause the problem. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much, im gonna take seat out in a week or so see what i find. Drove her to work this morn and it eventually turned itself off! No light at moment. Self fixing land cruiser love it.
